Family Services Advocate - Economic Opportunity Commission (Arvin)
A part-time Family Services Advocate position as a Family Services Advocate I, II, III is available with the Migrant & Seasonal Head Start program in Arvin from 8:00am - 5:00pm M-F, hours may vary. The position is seasonal (Mar-Oct), with 20hrs/week. Partial benefits available. BILINGUAL/BILITERATE REQUIRED in English/Spanish(differential provided. The position is available until filled.
The applicant would be responsible for recruitment of children, verification of eligibility, parent orientation, referral of parents to community resources and local social services agencies and updating children's health records. Maintains child/family files and reference records and supports families in the development of family goals and ongoing support in completing their goals. Works closely with the Program Specialists and Center Supervisors to assure timelines are met.
Minimum educational and experience requirements:
- Level I: Two years of education and/or experience in Child Development, Social Science, Psychology, Human Development, or Liberal Studies.
- Level II: Associate Arts Degree in Child Development, Social Science, Psychology, Human Development or Liberal Studies plus one year work experience in client casework and/or client eligibility setting, or a combination of related education and experience equal to three years.
- Level III: BA in Child Development, Social Science, Psychology, Human Development or Liberal Studies, plus one year work experience in client casework and/or client eligibility setting.
