State Farm & CCCC Keep Kids Safe on the Road

Although parents and caregivers have heard much about the need for child and booster seats for their children, 82 percent of child car seats are still not being used properly in some fashion and motor vehicle crashes remain the leading cause of unintentional injury-related death among children ages 14 and under.

To help spread the word of child passenger safety and how parents can better protect their children, State Farm sponsored Child Safety Day on May 15, 2004 in Lamont. A team of car seat safety technicians inspected 26 car seats. Upon inspection, the technicians recalled and replaced 17 car seats because of damage or age and cut the straps so they could not be used again.
